EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTING — THINK TWICE BEFORE BRINGING YOUR PET HERE Our experience with Kierland Animal Clinic has been absolutely unacceptable. Our dog has a serious seizure disorder and depends on consistent phenobarbital medication. This is not an optional medication or a minor issue — continuity of care can literally matter to his health and safety. Despite explaining this, we felt completely dismissed. We had already completed bloodwork through the veterinarian whose practice they took over, and that bloodwork had been normal. Yet we were told we needed to pay for additional bloodwork and testing before they would provide more than a one\-month refill. The bloodwork alone was over $500. Even worse, the clinic couldn’t locate bloodwork that had been done about a year ago, so instead of helping resolve the missing records, we were essentially told to pay hundreds of dollars to repeat testing. We’ve also previously been left without a refill. For a dog with a serious seizure disorder, that is frightening and completely unacceptable. We explained the urgency and still felt like our concerns were treated as an inconvenience. And now, after being given only one more month of medication, our dog has had a seizure for the first time in over THREE YEARS. It was the longest seizure he has ever experienced, lasting nearly three minutes. He was disoriented afterward, walking in circles and bumping into things, and we were absolutely terrified. This is exactly why continuity of care matters. Instead of feeling like our veterinarian was advocating for our dog’s health, we felt like we were being nickel-and-dimed and pushed through expensive hoops while dealing with a genuinely serious medical condition. A veterinary clinic should not make owners feel like they have to fight for access to medication their pet medically depends on. The lack of compassion, communication, and flexibility we’ve experienced has been incredibly upsetting. We will not be returning. We will be telling everyone you know who has a pet with ongoing medical needs to think twice before going here. If you expect compassionate care, clear communication, reasonable continuity, and a clinic that takes your concerns seriously, based on our experience, I would look elsewhere. Do your research and choose a clinic that will actually listen when you tell them your pet’s health is at stake.
